The TheraSuit Method is the new standard treatment for Cerebral Palsy. It is a gold standard treatment that has won international awards (as seen on 60 minutes)
The TheraSuit Method is based on an intensive therapy model and is an individualised and specific strengthening exercise program based on the individuals’ needs, strengths and weaknesses. It aims to eliminate pathological reflexes and establish new, correct, and functional patterns of movements.
The TheraSuit Method utilizes various tools and exercises. One of them is the soft dynamic proprioceptive orthosis called TheraSuit (see image 1). TheraSuit aligns the body as close to normal as possible. Re-establishing the correct postural alignment to help normalise muscle tone, sensory and vestibular function.
The TheraSuit method also utilises the Universal Exercise Unit (UEU) – See image 2. The UEU is used to train the ability to isolate desired movements and strengthen muscle groups responsible for those movements. The UEU helps gain range of motion, muscle and joint flexibility, as well as functional skills.
TheraSuit can be used to help people with: Cerebral Palsy, Developmental delay, Traumatic Brain Injury, Post stroke (CVA), Ataxia, Athetosis, Spasticity and musculoskeletal injuries.
